So says the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People. The Council, part of the Roman Curia of the Catholic Church, yesterday released a document concerning the “Pastoral Care for the Liberation of Women of the Street.”

It is important to recognize that sexual exploitation, prostitution and trafficking of human beings are all acts of violence against women and as such constitute an offence to the dignity of women and are a grave violation of basic human rights.
