According to the Monitoring the Future report, young adults are becoming more likely to participate in events that are not focused on alcohol. The report, which started in 1975, shows a decline in both college age and teen alcohol consumption. Instead, youth are choosing alcohol free events like color runs, board game parties and "juice crawls" (events that focus on fresh juice mixes instead of alcohol). These young adults blame high prices and crowds for their lack of interest in bars and the nightclub scene. Others simply find that they do not need alcohol to have a good time, but instead are more focused on the people they are sharing their time with.
