Nebraska School Board Votes for Abstinence

INTEGRITY IS (3)
School board members in Millard, Nebraska refuse to join Omaha's aggressive movement towards "comprehensive sex education." According to theĀ Norfolk Daily News, "board members voted 6-0 to reaffirm existing board policy that has been in effect since 1992."

At the Abstinence Clearinghouse we are encouraged by this district's decision to maintain a pro-abstinence approach to sex education. Millard is one of many districts in the United States teaching abstinence-until-marriage. The school also maintains the ideology that it is the parents' responsibility to educate their children on particular topics that are not covered within the classroom. This freedom allows parents to teach children based on their maturity and period of latency.
