Last week, the National Education Association (NEA), the largest teacher's union in the United States, voted to promote the so-called "right" to abortion. Almost 75% of attendees voted to adopt a resolution stating that, "NEA will publicly stand in defense of abortion and reproductive rights and encourage members to participate in rallies and demonstrations, lobbying and political campaigns, educational events and other actions to support the right to abortion." The other 26%, over one thousand members in attendance, will not have their voices respected and their membership dues will go towards promoting abortion in the United States.
The NEA isn't the only national association promoting a political agenda. Immoral values are also being promoted in our public libraries. Libraries used to be a great place for children to escape the heat on hot summer days and read their way through many classical adventures. Now, parents must exercise more caution when it comes to their children accessing the library and many libraries' summer reading lists. The Association for Library Service to Children released their summer reading list for children, and it includes several books that are LGBTQ+ based. This is an excellent reminder for parents to look into what books are available and recommended at your local library.
