The show claims to make a point against the objectification of women; however, women are often undermined and shown topless. Likewise, the show includes bad language, numerous affairs and unapologetically portrays an abortion. The overall premise of the show is to display the prejudice in Hollywood. The solution: teaching women how to stage fight.
GLOW is controversial on many levels. Young women should not be subjected to television shows that portray morality and success as something to be gained by the objectification of their bodies. We encourage parents to seize the opportunity to discuss with their teen(s) the values shows like GLOW try to impose on society. GLOW offers parents a chance to create open dialogue about pop-culture and encourage young women to choose integrity over popularity.
